What it Takes to Succeed
You've got to be able to see the whole business, while also
focusing on the financial details. Besides this, the following
personal qualities and skills would be helpful: ¥ problem-solving
ability ¥ computer-savvy ¥ strong analytical and creative
thinking skills ¥ strong interpersonal skills Students would
benefit by having basic computer skills including e-mail, word
processing, file management and internet web browsing.
Career Opportunities
Job opportunities are available in many sectors,
including: banks, manufacturing and service companies, government
ministries, and non-profit or charitable organizations. Positions
range from junior accountant to financial analyst, as well as
accounting technician or auditor, bookkeeper, cost accountant,
cost analyst or assessment clerk
Minimum Admission Requirements
OSSD with the majority of credits at the College (C) and Open (O)
level, including two English credits in the College (C) stream and
Grade 11 College (C) or University/College (U/C) level Mathematics.
Four Mathematics credits are highly recommended
Mature Students -applicants who do not possess an OSSD, but
who will be 19 years of age before the commencement of classes -
who can demonstrate potential for success in college studies,
will be considered on an individual basis. These students will be
required to write the Canadian Adult Achievement Test.
* Students starting in January are required to attend classes over the
summer semester.
